- 1847 Proceedings: A petition was received in DUE FORM from sundry brethren residing in Marion county, and praying for a dispensation to open a Lodge in Fairmont, by the name of Fairmont Lodge, and nominating Wor. William D. Eyster, Master, Joseph A. Hill, Sr. Warden, and A. F. Haymond, Jr. Warden. Resolved, That a dispensation be issued to authorize the opening of said Lodge, by the name of Fairmont Lodge, and appointing the officers named. 1848 Proceedings: Whereas a dispensation was issued to authorize the opening of a Lodge at Fairmont, Marion County, by the name of Fairmont Lodge, No. and appointing Worshipful William D. Eyster, Master, Joseph A. Hill, Senior Warden, and A. F. Haymond, Junior Warden; and said dispensation being returned, together with the necessary documents, Resolved, That a charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, by the name, title and designation of Fairmont Lodge, No. 9, and appointing the officers named in the dispensation, upon the payment of the usual fees.
