- Confirmed chartered on 12/11/1849. Whereas, a Dispensation was issued by the M. W. Grand Master, to authorise the opening a Lodge at Brooklynn, Halifax county, by the name of Brooklynn Lodge, and appointing William Easley, Master; Thomas W. White, Senior Warden, and C. T. Sutherlin, Junior War-den; and said dispensation being returned, together with the necessary documents; Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, by the name, title, and designation of Brooklynn Lodge, No. 16, appointing the officers named in the dispensation, upon the payment of the usual fees.
